GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Junior Alyssa Wiebe (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and sophomores Jocelyne Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) and Monique Lamoureux-Kolls (Grand Forks, N.D.) each had five-point games helping the Sioux to a 9-0 exhibition win over the Toronto Aeros this afternoon at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Sophomore Jorid Dagfinrud (Sarpsborg, Norway) made all 14 saves in the game for the win in net for the Sioux. Dagfinrud played 47:16 minutes in net before Savannah Heiser (Fargo, N.D), a first-year senior, entered the game in the third period playing out the remainder of the game.

UND peppered the Aeros with shots throughout the game combining to win the shot total 52-14. Although allowing nine goals in the game, Aeros goaltenders Brianna Piper and Brittany McMacken made some big saves in the loss.

The Sioux had five different goal scores in the game and 10 different skaters collected at least one point.

Last season's team leader in goals, Sara Dagenais (Montreal, Quebec), put the Sioux up 1-0 only three minutes into the first period connecting on a one-timer from Lamoureux-Kolls, while Mary Loken (Roseau, Minn.) scored her first of the game at the 13 minute mark to send the Sioux into the first intermission up 2-0.

Lamoureux would open the second period with a goal on a nice give-and-go play with her twin sister Lamoureux-Kolls only 33 seconds into the period. She would complete the natural hat trick with the next two consecutive goals at 16:15 and 19:30 of the second stanza. Although stats do not count in an exhibition game, the hat trick would have been the first recorded for the Sioux since Cami Wooster did so on Oct. 22, 2005, versus Quinnipiac. Loken added her second of the game with 30 seconds remaining in the frame for a 6-0 two-period lead.

The Sioux would go 2-for-5 on the power play with both of the goals scored by Lamoureux-Kolls in the third period. The Aeros went unsuccessful in three attempts.

The Sioux will open the regular season at the Ralph Engelstad Arena next Saturday with a 2:07 p.m. opening faceoff.
