The University of North Dakota women's hockey team earned five more representatives for the 2017 IIHF Women's World Championship as four current and former student-athletes were named to the Finnish Women's National Team: Anna Kilponen (sophomore), Emma Nuutinen (freshman), Michelle Karvinen (2011-14) and Susanna Tapani (2013-14), while former student-athlete Johanna Fallman (2012-15) was named to the Swedish Women's National Team.
