DENVER – The 2016 Academic All-WAC baseball team has been announced, in addition to the Academic All-WAC freshmen/transfer teams for swimming and diving. Eight members of the University of North Dakota baseball team earned honors while 14 more freshmen athletes were added to the previously-announced group of 27 UND men's and women's swimmers and divers to bring the school's combined total to 49.
GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- Junior Zach Muckenhirn was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 11th round of the Major League Baseball draft Saturday. His selection is the highest among UND baseball players in history.
TUCSON, Ariz.-- University of North Dakota slugger Miles Lewis was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America Team by Collegiate Baseball newspaper Wednesday. Lewis, the Western Athletic Conference's Freshman of the Year, was one of three WAC players honored, along with New Mexico State's Kyle Bradish and Seattle's Zach Wolf.

MESA, Ariz.-- A pair of University of North Dakota baseball players earned accolades as the Western Athletic Conference announced its all-league teams prior to the postseason tournament at Hohokam Park Tuesday evening.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-- A 10-run fourth inning propelled host CSU Bakersfiled to a 16-2 victory Saturday in the season finale for both teams. Bakersfield, the defending league tournament champions, will earn the sixth seed in the upcoming Western Athletic Conference Tournament.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-- Host Bakersfield moved into seventh place, percentage points ahead of UT Rio Grande Valley for the sixth and final playoff spot in the Western Athletic Conference race, with a 15-2 win over North Dakota Thursday evening. The Roadrunners scored in each of the first five innings in their win.
North Dakota will play its final games with a series at CSU Bakersfield beginning Thursday. UND will end its season-- and its consequently its program-- following this week's games with the suspension of varsity baseball after the 2016 season.
GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- New Mexico State left 17 runners on base but was able to grab some early runs, prevailing 7-2 over host North Dakota Sunday in Western Athletic Conference game. It marked the final home game for UND baseball after the announcement to suspend the program following the season.
GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- New Mexico State kept North Dakota's offense in check with a doubleheader sweep at Kraft Memorial Field Saturday. NMSU took a 6-0 win in the opener and the series with a 4-0 victory in the nightcap in the penultimate game of UND's home schedule.
