
Jack McClintock was once again the top golfer for North Dakota at the Beu Mussatto Invitational on Tuesday as the senior captain closed out the 36-hole tournament with a 75 (+3) to finish in a tie for 12th.

Senior Jack McClintock and his Fighting Hawk teammates battled through some tough conditions to get through the opening round of the 2018 Beu Mussatto Invitational on Monday.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- North Dakota football coach Bubba Schweigert, men's golf coach Matt Stricker and UND hockey radio analyst Steve Olson will join the North Dakota Coaches Show live from the Ground Round tonight.

It's been a trend this spring for the North Dakota men's golf team to keep improving from round-to-round and Tuesday's effort at the Colin Montgomerie Intercollegiate was no different.

Senior captain Jack McClintock turned around his day by shooting a 73 (+1) in his second loop around the Augusta Pines Golf Course Monday. McClintock opend the Colin Montgomerie Intercollegiate with an 83 (+11), but bounced back with a four-birdie round to lead North Dakota with a 155 (+11) total.

Junior Ryan Riihinen birdied two of his final four holes to card a 75 (+3) and lead a pack of four Fighting Hawks that all saved their best round of the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate for Tuesday's final loop around the Par-72 layout at Idlewild.

Junior Jordan Smith was the most consistent of the Fighting Hawks during a warm and windy opening two rounds of the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate played Monday at Idlewild.

A day after being the only Fighting Hawk to shoot in the 70's, junior Jeremy Kirk was joined by three of his teammates as the North Dakota men's golf team improved its score by 21 strokes in final round action at the Pizza Hut-Pat Hicks Invitational.

North Dakota junior Jeremy Kirk carded a 74 (+2) and is tied for 15th after the opening round of the Pizza Hut-Pat Hicks Invitational played Monday at the Sunbrook Golf Course. Kirk paced the Fighting Hawks with three birdies as they were under the direction of head coach Matt Stricker for the first time in tournament play.

Bill Chaves is the next Athletics Director at the University of North Dakota, UND President Mark Kennedy announced Saturday, Jan. 13. Chaves, who becomes UND's 16th A.D., has been Director of Athletics at Eastern Washington University since 2007 and is a two-time recipient (2012-13 & 2015-16) of national Athletic Director of the Year honors.
