HONOLULU, Hawai'i-- Maryland used a fifth-inning error to help produce the eventual winning runs in a 2-1 victory over North Dakota in the finale of the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine Classic Saturday afternoon. It was also the final tune-up game before the Big Sky Conference season opens next weekend.

UND drops a pair of one-run heartbreakers in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawai'i-- North Dakota suffered a pair of one-run losses Friday at the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine Classic. UND dropped a 1-0 game to Cleveland State in the opener then saw Hawai'i rally with three runs in the seventh to take a 3-2 victory in game two.

HONOLULU, Hawai'i--  North Dakota split a pair of games at day two of the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine Classic Thursday, defeating Cleveland State, 2-1, before falling to fourth-ranked Tennessee, 14-2.

UND hangs tough with some of nation's best

HONOLULU, Hawaii-- The North Dakota softball team hung tough with one of the nation's top teams and nearly stole a win against host Hawai'i in the nightcap of a doubleheader late Wednesday night. Fourth-ranked Tennessee was a 5-0 winner in game one before Hawai'i needed nine innings to claim a 4-3 win in game two.

VanDomelen earns third straight Big Sky honor

OGDEN, Utah-- For the third consecutive week, UND senior Kaylin VanDomelen was named the Big Sky Conference's Pitcher of the Week. Her most recent performance included her first career perfect game, a career-high for strikeouts and the second no-hitter in a two-week span.

North Dakota heads right from California to Hawaii for the seven-game Rainbow Wahine Classic, beginning Wednesday. UND will battle fourth-ranked Tennessee twice in the Classic with two games apiece against Cleveland State, host Hawaii and a single game with Maryland to wrap up the final game before conference season starts (Mar. 23 at Portland State).

Sweep bid falls just short, UND splits Sunday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.-- A seventh-inning rally by host Cal Poly spoiled what could have been a North Dakota sweep Sunday. UND dumped Santa Clara, 7-3, in the opener then scored two runs in the seventh to tie Cal Poly in game two before the Mustangs walked it off in the bottom of the inning.

VanDomelen perfect game kicks off Cal Poly Tourney

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.-- Senior Kaylin VanDomelen continued her dominance Friday, throwing a seven-inning perfect game with a career-high 14 strikeouts in a 3-0 win to open play at the Cal Poly Tournament. It marked her second no-hitter already this season and gave her wins in five consecutive starts, all allowing one run or fewer on each occasion.

The University of North Dakota softball team embarks on a two-week jaunt to the West Coast, heading to California before traversing the Pacific Ocean to play in the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Classic the following week over Spring Break.

OGDEN, Utah-- With two more pitching gems last week, UND senior Kaylin VanDomelen was named the Big Sky Conference's Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive time Tuesday. She followed up a week in which she won two games-- including a no-hitter-- and saved two by twirling two complete-game masterpieces in wins over Hampton and Big Ten's Rutgers.

Big late rally earns UND split, four wins on the weekend

HAMPTON, Va.-- A day after downing Big Ten opponent, Rutgers, to stretch its win streak to seven, UND had things rolling again Sunday before the Scarlet Knights rallied in the final innings. Rutgers would take the first game, 8-2, before North Dakota made it four wins on the weekend with a 6-2 win over host Hampton.
