GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota men's hockey team unveiled it's new jerseys at today's Sioux Fan Fest at Ralph Englestad Arena. There was only one version on hand at Fan Fest. The others are currently getting names stitched on the back.

The Fighting Sioux will be wearing Reebok helmets, gloves, pants, and also will be the first college hockey team to wear the Reebok Edge Uniform, which was introduced in the NHL in 2007. In addition to the on-ice jerseys, Reebok will produce replicas that fans may purchase to support their team.

"We are honored to be working with a program that is as respected and storied as the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux men's ice hockey program," said Len Rhodes, General Manager, Reebok-CCM Hockey. "Year after year, they are a contender for a national championship, and we hope that by providing them with Reebok Hockey's unmatched technology, we can help them stay at the apex of college hockey for years to come. We also think that the new jersey design will resonate with fans and players alike and will be a welcome update for the team."

Fans that miss today's Sioux Fan Fest can get a look at the jerseys starting Monday in the REA Sioux Shop. Replica jerseys will be available at The Sioux Shop at Ralph Engelstad Arena at the end of September.

UND will be wearing the new jerseys when the Fighting Sioux open up their season on October 4th in an exhibition game against Manitoba.

"We expect this relationship with Reebok to pay huge dividends," said UND head coach Dave Hakstol. "The quality of Reebok's gear is second to none and they have proved over the years that they have a very deep hockey pedigree. I am excited to see what they can provide for our players."

Reebok Hockey equipment is endorsed by many of hockey's greatest players, including NHL stars Sidney Crosby, Pavel Datsyuk, Marc-Andre Fleury, Roberto Luongo, and many more professional and amateur players around the world. Fighting Sioux players will be wearing the Reebok 8K helmet, Reebok 10K gloves, Reebok 7K pants and Reebok's Speedwick performance apparel. UND's goalies will wear Reebok Premier III and the new Revoke series goalie equipment. In addition, select players will wear the Reebok 9K Pump skates and use the new Reebok 10K SicKick II stick.

The Reebok EDGE Uniform features technologically-advanced materials and fabrics in both the jersey and socks that are more breathable and offer greater range of movement. The EDGE Uniform features innovative materials designed to provide comfort and improved compatibility with equipment while helping to enhance player performance. Highlights include Reebok's innovative PLAYDRYTM moisture management technology to maximize comfort, breathability and temperature control; stretch mesh in areas including the underarms and back for additional range of motion and increased ventilation; and an anatomical fit to integrate better with players' shoulder and elbow padding, core protectors and shin guards.

UND athletics will be displaying the jerseys at Sioux Fan Fest Saturday, September 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. This will be the first time fans will be able to see the new uniform in person. The Sioux Fan Fest is a free event open to the public. Fans can meet the men's and women's hockey programs, take pictures, get autographs, bid on autographed pictures of former members of the men's hockey program and much more. For $1 fans can purchase a sack lunch of a hotdog, chips and soda. Single-game tickets for all sports will go on-sale Saturday as well at 10 a.m.
