A former Fighting Sioux All-American Kristi Boese was hired as an intern assistant women's basketball coach at North Dakota on Aug. 3, 2009.
A three-year starter for the Sioux, Boese was named a 2005-06 All-American by three different organizations (Daktronics, Inc., Kodak/WBCA, and Women's Division II Bulletin) and was voted the North Central Conference's Most Valuable Player. During her four-year career at UND (2002-06), she missed just one game.
UND's fifth-highest scorer with 1,834 points, Boese is ranked third all-time in career games played (130), three-point percentage (.443), and rebounds (955), fourth in career field goals made (688), and fifth in career steals (217) and single-season rebounds (294). She set a new UND record during the 2004-05 season when she shot 50 percent (46-for-92) from the three-point line, including a 13-for-13 (1.000) showing during the 73-56 season opening win over Northwest Missouri State on Nov. 15, 2004.
Boese made her return to Grand Forks after teaching middle school in Phoenix, Ariz.
