2010-11 (Freshman): Recipient of UND's Tom Hoghaug Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to the freshman who demonstrates initiative, character and a sense of responsibility ... Named to Athletics Director's Fall Honor Roll ... Led all Sioux freshmen in points (21) and goals (eight) ... Had 15 points (6g, 9a) in 22 games after the Christmas break, compared to six points (2g, 4a) in 20 games prior to Christmas ... Had a goal and an assist in UND's 6-1 win over No. 5 Denver in the NCAA Midwest Region championship game (March 27) ... Goal put UND up 4-1 with 5:17 left in third period ... His assist came on Brett Hextall's power-play goal late in the second period that held up as the game-winner ... Reached the scoresheet in seven of his last 12 games, amassing 11 points (3g, 8a) during that time ... Put together a season-long four-game point streak (2g, 4a) from March 4-12 ... Collected three assists in UND's WCHA first round sweep of Michigan Tech (March 11-12) ... Averaged nearly three points per game last season at Warroad (Minn.) High School, amassing 39 goals and 34 assists in 25 games ... Named a finalist for Minnesota's Mr. Hockey Award, given annually to the top senior player in the state ... Registered 45 goals and 31 assists in 31 games as a junior in 2008-09.

Personal: Majoring in pre-investments ... Son of Roc and Jeri Nelson ... Uncle, Dave Christian, played at UND (1977-79) and won Olympic gold with the United States' famed "Miracle on Ice" team in 1980 before going on to play in more than 1,000 career NHL games with Winnipeg, Washington, Boston, St. Louis and Chicago ... Uncle, Eddie Christian, lettered for UND from 1980 to 1984 ... Great uncle, Gordon "Ginny" Christian also played at UND (1947-50) and won Olympic silver with the United States in 1956.
