BOSTON - North Dakota junior Troy Huff was one of 25 Division I Mid-Major players named to the 2013 Lou Henson All-America Team announced on Monday by collegeinsider.com officials. The All-America honor is the first at the Division I level for a UND player.

"Troy had a fantastic season for us and this is more positive attention for both him and our program in what was a special first season in the Big Sky Conference," UND head coach Brian Jones said. "To be recognized as one of the top players at this level and have your name mentioned along with Lou Henson is truly special."

Huff is on track to win the Big Sky scoring title after averaging 19.2 ppg and he moved all the way to 11th place on UND's career scoring charts this season after scoring a career-high 481 points despite missing eight games with a broken jaw.

He is only the second UND player to score at least 400 points in each of his first three seasons (Scott Guldseth; 1989-93). Huff led UND to a third-place finish in Big Sky play with a 12-8 record and the team earned a third-consecutive trip to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

The last UND player to earn any type of All-America honor was former Miami Heat forward Jerome Beasley, who earned first team Division II honors by the Bulletin and second team honors by Daktronics and the NABC.

The 2013 Lou Henson All-American team also includes: Travis Bader (Oakland), Billy Baron (Canisius), Jerrelle Benimon (Towson), Tommy Brenton (Stony Brook), Ryan Broekhoff (Valparaiso), Isaiah Canaan (Murray State), Jackie Carmichael (Illinois State), Will Cherry (Montana), Jake Cohen (Davidson), D.J. Cooper (Ohio), Matthew Dellavedova (Saint Mary's), James Ennis (Long Beach), Shane Gibson (Sacred Heart), Juan'ya Green (Niagara), Corey Hawkins (UC Davis), Tyler Haws (BYU), Lamont Jones (Iona), Zeke Marshall (Akron), Jake Odum (Indiana State), Jamal Olasewere (LIU-Brooklyn), Keith Rendleman (UNC Wilmington), Augustine Rubit (South Alabama), Colt Ryan (Evansville), Taylor Smith (Stephen F. Austin).

The 25 players selected are eligible for the 2013 Lou Henson Award presented annually to the top Mid-Major player in Division I college basketball since 2010. The award is named in honor of Henson, who retired in 2005 after a spectacular coaching career that lasted 41 years. When he left the game, Henson was sixth all-time in career Division I wins with 779.

The 2013 Award will be presented at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Banquet in Atlanta, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Final Four this season.
