Ralph Engelstad Arena to host hockey viewing party

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Ralph Engelstad Arena will host a free viewing party for the NCAA West Regional game against Niagara on Friday, March 29.

This family friendly atmosphere will feature the game on the center hung video boards and provide guests an opportunity to cheer on UND along with thousands of other North Dakota hockey fans. The viewing party is free and all ages are welcome.

This will be the first time the new higher definition center hung video displays, which were installed in 2011, will be used for viewing party. The new displays will provide guests with a greatly enhanced high-quality viewing experience that is more than twice the resolution than the boards which Ralph Engelstad Arena has used for previous viewing parties.

To support the UND men’s “no shaving during playoffs” campaign, Ralph Engelstad Arena will be hosting a best and worst “playoff beard” contest.  Post your photos at facebook.com/ralphengelstadarena or on twitter @TheREA for a chance to win Sioux Shop gift cards. Winners will be selected during the game on Friday and need to be present to win.

Guests are asked to park on the north side of the venue and use the main and southwest doors.

***If UND wins Friday, Ralph Engelstad Arena will also host a viewing party for the West regional championship game on Saturday at 3 PM.
