NoDak Nation, the official student-athletic booster organization of UND Athletics, is now taking applications for yell leaders for 13-14 school year.  Yell leaders will help lead the student sections at football, volleyball and basketball in cheers, work with the band & spirit squads to help improve the in-game experience for students and will showcase the spirit of campus and pride UND students take in their University.

Yell leaders will be awarded a $500 stipend/scholarship as well as men’s hockey student season tickets.  Applications are due by Friday, April 26.  For more information, contact NoDak Nation President Landon Bahl at landon.bahl@my.UND.edu

What is NoDak Nation?

NoDak Nation is the official student-athletic booster organization at the University of North Dakota. Within the organization it is strongly believed that once you become a North Dakota fan, you don’t go back. Members pride themselves on their ability to create some of the best game atmospheres in sports. Whether on the road or at home, we make every game a home game.  Since NoDak Nation’s inception in 1999 (formerly known as Sioux Crew), the purpose has strictly remained to reward students for their support, commitment and involvement in all things UND Athletics. With North Dakota pride unmatched by any other student group, members bleed green inside and out!

What is a Yell Leader?

A Yell leader is a “cheer-leader,” but not a “cheerleader.” Yell leaders are North Dakota super-fans with endless enthusiasm, who lead the student section in cheers, chants and general extreme loudness (especially behind the opposing bench). Yell leaders are given special access and expected to help make the Alerus Center and Betty Engelstad Sioux Center the hardest places to play in the Big Sky Conference. They work with NoDak Nation, UND Athletics, the Pride of the North band and UND Spirit Squads to help create the best game experience for all UND fans. Yell leaders represent the spirit of campus, showcasing the great pride UND students take in their University.
