GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota head coach Bubba Schweigert announced on Friday that Kansas transfer Marcus Jenkins-Moore has signed scholarship papers to continue his collegiate football career for the Green and White. Jenkins-Moore is expected to join his new teammates early next week. UND’s first practice of fall camp is slated for Saturday morning.

“Marcus is an explosive athlete that is really good in space,” Schweigert said. “We are excited to add him to our linebacker mix and expect him to come in and compete for playing time right away at one of the outside spots.”

Jenkins-Moore signed with KU prior to the 2013 season, but suffered a season-ending injury before fall camp and was redshirted. He played two seasons at Pierce College in Los Angeles where he became one of the top 100 JUCO recruits according to Rivals.com and ESPN.com. He finished his two-year career with 78 tackles, including seven for a loss in 13 games.

As a prep athlete at Eastern High School in Louisville, Ky., he registered 120 career tackles, three sacks and three interceptions.

Jenkins-Moore will be eligible to compete immediately and have two seasons to play for UND.
