GRAND FORKS, N.D. – A week after announcing a non-conference matchup with Pac-12 foe Utah during the 2017 season, University of North Dakota athletics director Brian Faison announced yet another future contest against fellow league member Washington. UND will play the Huskies for the first time in program history on September 15, 2018.

“We’re taking a proactive approach in lining up these future games with FBS opponents and our players will benefit from being able to play in some of the best venues college football has to offer,” UND head coach Chris Mussman said. “Like Utah, Washington is a storied program with lots of tradition and we have a great alumni base in Seattle, so that should give our alums out there a unique opportunity to watch us in their own city.”

Even though it will be the first contest against UW, the UND football program is no stranger to the Evergreen State. The Green and White have played games against Central Washington and Western Washington during their Division II days and already paid a visit to Eastern Washington last season during their first season as a Big Sky member.
