The countdown to UND football is on. With 41 days and counting to the start of the University of North Dakota football season, UNDSports.com is here every Friday with updates, news and other fun items to get ready for the year.

For North Dakota football coach Kyle Myers, one thing stands out about the UND campus and Grand Forks community  the people.

Myers, a native of Palmyra, N.J., first coached at UND in 2009 and was hired as a full-time defensive assistant last spring. He will oversee the defensive line and direct recruiting operations.

Myers was recently featured by UNDsports.com. He talked about the UND community, what he looks for in a student-athlete, his coaching philosophy and more.

North Dakota starts the season on Aug. 29 against Valparaiso. UND hosts seven home games this season in its second year in the Big Sky Conference.
