GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota head women's golf coach Natalie Martinson has announced today that Abbie Mozzetti and Madison Gemar have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Fighting Sioux beginning with the 2012-13 season.

Mozzetti is a product of White Bear Lake (Minn.) Area High School, while Gemar is a graduate of Davies High School in Fargo, N.D.

"I'm excited to bring in two high caliber athletes who have been successful both on the course and in the classroom," Martinson said.

Mozzetti was a five-year letter winner at White Bear Lake Area High School and was a three-year state qualifier and a three-year team MVP recipient. She has family ties to UND Athletics, with her grandfather, Richard Mozzetti, having played on the men's basketball team in 1959-60. Her father, Dan Mozzetti, played golf and basketball for Bemidji State University.

Mozzetti also lettered in basketball as a guard and is a member of the National Honor Society.

"Abbie is a presidential scholar and took individual medalist honors in her high school tournament at Elk River. She will be an impact player next fall," Martinson said.

Gemar was an all-state selection after leading Davies High School to a state championship in 2012. She also earned All-Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) and team MVP honors while earning her sixth letter.

Gemar recorded a scoring average of 85.91 as a senior.

"Madison is a dynamic, multi-sport athlete who helped guide her high school team to a state championship this season," said Martinson. "She will have a successful four-year college career."

UND placed fifth at the 2012 Great West Conference Championship.
