Grand Forks, N.D. – University of North Dakota softball head coach Eric Oakley announced today that Amanda Montalto has been elevated to full time assistant coach entering the 2013-14 school year.

“Amanda brings enthusiasm and passion that is contagious to the team as well as the staff,” Oakley said.  Her knowledge of both hitting and catching will be a great asset as we continue to build this program.”

Montalto served as an interim assistant coach last season.

Coming to UND after finishing a stellar career at Ball State University, Montalto was a four-year catcher/designated player.

Montalto earned All-MAC First Team honors in 2012, 2011, and 2009. She also received All-MAC Second Team honors in 2010 and was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Regional Second Team in 2012.

Montalto was a six-time career MAC West Division Player of the Week for the Cardinals.

Montalto earned her bachelor's degree in general studies in 2012. She will continue serving as the primary hitting coach for UND while working with the catchers.
