2014-15 Schedule

Grand Forks, N.D. -
North Dakota head men's golf coach Tim Swanson announced on Friday that senior Collin Lervick (Chanhassen, Minn.) and junior Aaron Pulanco (Maplewood, Minn.) will share the captain duties for his 2014-15 squad. UND will move into the Big Sky Conference this season after participating in the America Sky Conference for its first six seasons of Division I existence.

Lervick is the lone senior on the team and top returner after leading the team with a 77.51 stroke average a season ago. He capped his junior campaign by tying for 10th at the America Sky Championship, which was the best ever finish by a UND golfer at a conference tournament since the team transitioned to the Division I level (2008-09 season).

"I think Collin is poised to have a nice senior season," Swanson said. "He came on and had a strong finish to his junior season and played well into the summer, so I'm excited to get him back for one more year.

"I think Aaron showed at times what kind of golfer he can be and as upperclassmen, I expect both him and Collin to lead this team. We have some new faces and overall I feel like we have a stronger team heading into the campaign."

Pulanco's best finish during his first season with the golf team came at the Pat Hicks Invitational where he tied for 19th. He posted his low round of the season in the opening round, carding a 71. He also had a 73 in round two of the Moe O'Brien Intercollegiate, which helped UND post its best team score of the season with a 302.

Lervick and Polanco are part of a seven-player squad that Swanson will send out to 10 tournaments during the season. UND will open its 2014-15 season at the Arbor Lakes Invitational in Nebraska City, Neb., starting a string of three consecutive weeks of competition.

The Green and White will close out the fall schedule in Gulf Shores, Ala., at the Arkansas State Fall Beach Classic.

The spring season will see the team compete in five different tournaments in five different states before embarking on its first Big Sky Championship in late April. That event will be held in Angel's Camp, Calif., on April 27-29 and be hosted by Sacramento State -- a team that is also moving to the league in 2014-15.
