After graduating from UND in 2008 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in coaching, Sannes was as an assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.

"Val has taken it upon herself to learn a different role as an administrator in our program, which is vital to our success," said Brewster. "Her years of experience as a coach and student-athlete here at UND is a must-have in our program. I am very excited to continue our long-standing relationship of 10-plus years. Our student-athletes will gain a wealth of knowledge from Val, who epitomizes the UND way."
