Grand Forks, N.D. – The North Dakota women’s tennis team played in its first home match in over a month on Saturday morning falling to Northern Arizona by a score of 6-1 at Choice Health and Fitness Center.
"We played well today. We didn't get much production out of the bottom of our lineup, but the top of our lineup played well," Head Coach Tom Wynne said. "We are getting closer, we just didn't get it done."
Northern Arizona won the doubles point to start the match. The closest match was between North Dakota’s sophomore Callie Ronkowski (Grand Forks, N.D.) and junior Sarah Stejskal (Grand Rapids, Minn.) against Nicole Perez and Ghizelene Doballah. The final result was 8-6 in favor of Northern Arizona.
In singles action, Ronkowski had the lone victory for UND. Ronkowski defeated Doballah with scores of 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 singles.
UND will travel Sacramento California next weekend to take on Northern Colorado on March 30 and Sacramento State on March 31.
