OGDEN, Utah—University of North Dakota senior forward Madi Buck has been named the co-Big Sky Conference Player of the Week after her performance last week in big home wins. Buck led first-place North Dakota to a pair of convincing 30-point wins this week, defeating Northern Arizona, 71-41 Thursday and Sacramento State, 87-57 Saturday. It marks her second weekly honor this season (Dec. 16). She shares this week’s honor with Weber State's Kalie Matthews.

Buck scored 18 points and added five rebounds and two steals in Thursday's win. She followed that up with a team-high 20-point effort Saturday, shooting 9-of-13 from the floor in her final regular season home game of her career.  It was her 7th 20-point game of the season and 10th straight game in double figures.

For the week, she averaged 19 points, 3.5 rebounds and was a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line.

She leads UND in scoring and has helped North Dakota become the first team to earn a berth in the Big Sky Conference Tournament. UND holds a game and a half lead in the league standings with three games remaining.

UND heads to Portland State and Eastern Washington this week before the regular season finale at Southern Utah March 6.
