HIGHLAND, Utah -- Two-time defending champion Houston Baptist shot a 10-over-par 298 during today's second round to take over first place at the 2012 Great West Conference Women's Golf Championship.

HBU will enter tomorrow's third and final round with a 599 (310-298), good for a 10 shot lead over host Utah Valley.

UVU's Lynn-Marie Nagel, who shot a GWC-record 69 yesterday, remains the individual leader after carding a 76 today. Her 1-over 145 leads HBU's Kelsey-Lou Hing by two strokes.

North Dakota shot a 332 today and dropped one spot into fifth place.

UND freshman Amanda Fairweather (Maple Valley, Wash.) owned the team's lowest score during the second round, carding an 81, and is in 18th place.

Junior Chivas Beaudoin (Dickinson, N.D.) remains the top Sioux in the individual standings after finishing the second round tied for 15th with a 162 (80-82).

Wednesday's third and final round begins at 10 a.m. Central at the Alpine Country Club.
