GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota Athletics Department, in partnership with the UND Alumni Association and Foundation, announced today tour dates for the 2012 UND Champions Golf Tour (formerly Sioux-Per Swings).

The 2012 tour will make stops in Park River, N.D. (June 7), Prior Lake, Minn. (June 11), Fargo/Oxbow, N.D. (June 18), Detroit Lakes, Minn. (July 19) and Grand Forks, N.D. (Aug. 27). The Aug. 27 tour stop in Grand Forks, held at the Grand Forks Country Club, will serve as the official kick-off event to the 2012-13 UND Athletics season.

Championships start with scholarships, and the proceeds raised by the UND Champions Golf Tour help fund UND Athletics scholarships. In 2011, the proceeds from nearly 500 golfers and over $24,000 in profit enabled UND Athletics to fund two full scholarships.

Individuals or businesses interested in sponsoring a hole, donating prizes for raffles and hole contests, or wishing to join a local planning committee can do so by contacting Champions Club Associate Director Katie Horob at KatieH@undfoundation.org.
