GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota will head into the offseason ranked among the top six in the final national polls of the 2011-12 season.

UND, which finished 26-13-3 and advanced to the NCAA West Region final as the region's No. 1 seed, was ranked No. 5 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 6 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

The Fighting Sioux earned their eighth NCAA postseason berth in as many years under head coach Dave Hakstol, while winning their league-record third consecutive Broadmoor Trophy as Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Final Five champions.

National champion Boston College was the top-ranked team in both polls, while fellow NCAA Frozen Four participants Ferris State, Union and Minnesota rounded out the top five.
