GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Freshman Jeff Campbell (Clearwater, Fla.) tossed his fourth complete game of the season and classmate Tyler Follis (Bemidji, Minn.) had four hits and a career-high four RBI to lead North Dakota to a 10-2 victory over New York Institute of Technology on Sunday at Kraft Field. The victory clinched the first Great West series win of the season for the Sioux (12-31, 6-14 GWC), who have now won eight of their last 11 games.

Redshirt freshman Mark Bearmon (St. Louis, Park.) started the scoring for the Sioux with a RBI-double in the second and finished with three hits in his first action in over two weeks. He also scored three runs and finished with two RBI.

"The thing I will take away from today is how we came out and played after a win," UND head coach Jeff Dodson said. "That is a testament to the way Jeff pitched and the production we got throughout the lineup."

Junior Riley Beck (Munich, N.D.) added a RBI-single to make it a two-run second inning for the Sioux, who scored first in all four games of the seriers.

The Bears (5-36, 3-17 GWC) cut their deficit in half in the fourth when Sebastian Grazziani belted a solo home run to left. NYIT starter James Bulva had scattered eight hits through five to have his team only trailing 2-1 entering the sixth, but the UND bats would eventually break through against the tall right-hander.

Follis ripped a single into left-center to score a pair and freshman Sam Alt (Lino Lakes, Minn.) added a RBI-single as the Sioux turned four hits and the only NYIT error of the game into five runs. Those five tallies pushed the lead to 7-1 for Campbell, who also added two hits at the plate in the victory.

Bearmon added a run-scoring single in the seventh and Follis delivered his second two-run single of the game to make it a 10-1 contest. The Bears would get one more run off Campbell in the top of the eighth, but he closed out the game by striking out Matt DiBiase in the ninth.

The punch out was the seventh of the game for Campbell (3-6), who equaled his season-high set at NJIT on April 21. He allowed only five hits and walked just two as he became the first Sioux pitcher to win three games he started on the season.

The Sioux continue their season-long homestand on Tuesday with a non-conference game against South Dakota State at 2 p.m.
