GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- With the 2012 Great West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship one month away, the league's coaches have picked North Dakota to finish third in the preseason poll.
Three-time defending champion Utah Valley was the unanimous choice to win the conference, receiving all eight first-place votes.
UND placed fifth at last year's GWC Outdoor Championship. Under first-year head coach Kevin Galbraith, the Sioux place third at the 2012 GWC Indoor Championship earlier this year.
The Sioux have five meets remaining prior to the 2012 GWC Outdoor Championship, held May 10-12 in Houston.
