Beginning tomorrow, the former two-time NCAA Division II national champion will swim in her first of three races at the 2012 U.S. Olympic swimming trials in Omaha, Neb.

Gormally, who swam at North Dakota from 2006 to 2010, will compete in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle, as well as the 100-meter breaststroke. The 100 breast takes place tomorrow, while the 100-meter free and 50-meter free are on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Each event will have 70 to 80 contenders, and the top two will advance to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Gormally is coached by former UND assistant coach Lucas Baarlaer.

During her decorated collegiate career, Gormally, a native of Williston, N.D., won national titles in the 50 and 100 free and was a 10-time All-American.

The trials run through July 2.
