OMAHA, Neb. -- In its final tournament before the Great West Conference Championship, the Fighting Sioux women's golf team placed 12th today at the Creighton Golf Classic at the Oak Hills Country Club.
UND shaved one stroke off of yesterday's opening-round 359 and finished the competition with a 717 (359-358).
Yesterday's leader, Northern Iowa, held on for a one-stroke finish over Southern Illinois. UNI finished with a 635 (307-328).
North Dakota State's Amy Anderson won her third straight Creighton Golf Classic with a 149.
UND junior Robin Hutchinson (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) was the team's top finisher, tying for 45th place with a 176 (88-88). Freshman Brooke Finger owned the lowest score by a Sioux during the second round, carding an 85 to finish with a 178 and tie for 49th.
The Sioux will close out the season April 23-25 at the GWC Championship in Highland, Utah.
