HIGHLAND, Utah -- Utah Valley's Amanda Lynn-Marie Nagel and the Wolverines each set Great West Conference Championship records for lowest individual and team scores, as the conference tournament got underway today at the Alpine Country Club.
Nagel carded a 3-under 69, while helping her team shoot a collective 298 during the first day of action. Nagel leads the individual standings by two strokes, while UVU holds a 3-shot lead over two-time defending champion Houston Baptist.
North Dakota is in fourth place after shooting a 327.
UND's Chivas Beaudoin was the team's top performer through the first 18 holes, carding an 80 that has her tied for 12th.
The second of three rounds gets underway tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
