UND defeats South Dakota for second straight win

St. Cloud, Minn. - After defeating St. Cloud State on Saturday morning, the North Dakota women's tennis team beat South Dakota by a score of 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Fitness Evolution Tennis Center.

The team won all three of the doubles competitions and earned the doubles point to start the match.

UND also had success on the individual level. Junior Stephanie Petsis (Toronto, Ontario) defeated Milica Pavlovic 6-2, 6-0 in No. 1 singles. Sophomore Callie Ronkowski (Grand Forks, N.D.) beat Michelle Elkin 6-1, 6-2 in No. 2 singles. In No. 3 singles junior Stephanie Biehn (Sherburn, Minn.) defeated Hafsa Laraibi 6-4, 1-7, 7-6 and in senior Megan Sween (Grand Forks, N.D.) beat Nina Barudizic in No. 4 singles.

The team will travel to Portland, Oregon to take on Big Sky Conference competitor Portland State on March 10.
