GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- Yes, the Spring game is over. But, work remains to be done before the end of the Spring session. With weather causing havoc on the schedule, UND has been forced to adjust and get its work in following the scrimmage-- an unconventional schedule.

While the intra-squad game is normally the finale to the Spring season, this year is a bit different. With that, the coaches have a unique challenge of making sure the team remains focused for these final practices. Defensive Coordinator Josh Kotelnicki made sure to help set the tone from the top of the practice that the job is not yet done. The players responded and several things stood out in Monday's nearly two-hour practice.

Monday's practice was No. 13 for UND. Last Friday's walkthrough served as No. 11 and the Spring Game at No. 12.

Highlights:
-A lot of positional work Monday, but some highlights below from the 11-on-11 situationals.

-Anthony Fletcher made a pair of standout catches over great coverage.  Both were made with Tyrhe Ivery all over him on the sidelines. The second was a perfect ball landed over the top from Ryan Bartels that Fletcher leaped to catch before falling to the turf with feet inbounds.

-A bulk of the drills were passing plays, but Jer Garman and Adam Shaugabay took most of the reps in the backfield on run plays.

-Romon Bridges had a nifty cutback move after a catch over the middle that made some tacklers miss.

-The defense brought pressure during some of the situational plays and a few pass break-ups of note came from Brandon Larson and Dan Konowalski who each had one-handed breakups to spoil good throws.

-Chavon Mackey and Greg Hardin each got a few reps catching punts during punting drills.

-Several of those punts came off the leg of linebacker Ben Peters, who got off a few bombs. Peters definitely can fill a role for UND, if need be, at punter. Maverick Edmunds also got some punts in.

Notes:
-The spring practice schedule has been shuffled with weather issues. Monday was the final practice at the Alerus Center with two final practices remaining on Wednesday and Friday at Memorial Stadium.

-Midco Sports Net's Dan Hammer was on hand to chat with Spring game-standout Kenny Golladay (two TDs Saturday) as well as grab some other video for an hour-long special set to come out soon-- be on the lookout.

-Grand Forks Herald's Wayne Nelson will be doing a piece about the special teams unit. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Herald this week to read their coverage.
