UND softball has seven receive All-GWC Team honors

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The 2012 All-Great West Conference Softball Team was selected by the league coaches and announced by the conference Thursday including juniors Brittany Baker (Buena Park, Calif.) and Cami Bennett (Grants Pass, Ore.) receiving first team honors.

Senior Erica Younan (Chico, Calif.), juniors D Jantzer (Grants Pass, Ore.) and Kenna Olsen (Issaquah, Wash.) and sophomores Caralyn Chewning (Willamina, Ore.) and Amanda Johnson (Ashby, Minn.) were all recognized on the All-GWC Second Team.

The Fighting Sioux concluded their 2012 campaign with an 18-29 overall record.

Utah Valley's Amanda Robinson was named GWC Player of the Year, while Nebraska Omaha's Dana Elsasser picked up Pitcher of the Year honors and UVU's Tiffany Mills was named Newcomer of the Year. UVU's Todd Fairbourne was selected as the Coach of the Year after leading the Wolverines to the 2012 GWC Championship.
