SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Freshman thrower Molly Griep put the finishing touches on an outstanding weekend today at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational.

Griep achieved a personal record in the shot put, recording a throw of 13.35 meters (43 feet, 9 3/4 inches).

Griep's shot put PR came one day after the Whitewater, Wis., native qualified for the USA Junior National Championship with a personal-record effort in the discus.

UND also had several student-athletes competing in the Drake Alternative Meet today in Saint Peter, Minn.
The team is back in action on Monday at the Cobber Twilight in Moorhead, Minn.
