Bismarck shows its support at Champions Golf Tour

Great numbers turned out for the Champions Tour Golf stop in Bismarck last week at the Hawktree Golf Club.

The tour concludes on Aug. 26 in Grand Forks. Find out more information for the event at undalumni.org/golf.

Bismarck details:

  • 36  teams of 5 (some had six) –182 golfers-- on an 18 hole course
  • 12 hole sponsors
  • Course Prizes donated by McQuade Distributing Co, Inc. and Roness Law Firm
  • Prizes included:
    • ND Duffle bags, travel accessories kits, coolers, golf balls, pro shop money, game tickets, signed jerseys and sticks
  • Local committee members include: Chuck Picard ’94, Mitch Vig ‘01, Chuck Clairmont ‘89, Tony Weiler ’92, ‘98, KJ Coghlan ’96 and Ryan Kopseng ‘99
  • Coaches present: Hakstol, Fabian, Galbraith, Idalski, Jones, Martinson, Swanson
  • Staff present: Tim O’Keefe, Steve Brekke, Mike Mannasau, Katie Horob, and Brian Faison
  • Money goes to student-athlete impact scholarships
  • After the tournament, everyone enjoyed a steak and potato dinner and Brian gave an overview of what’s happening in athletics. Coaches present gave an overview of what’s in store for their teams this upcoming season.
  • Over 30 UND exclusive raffle prizes were also given away.
  • 187-yard Hole-in-One by Dr. Kevin Gilchrist ‘75 – will receive the VIP treatment for a hockey weekend.
