SAINT PETER, Minn. -- Freshman Jimmy Evers ran a Big Sky Conference qualifier while junior teammate Sam Saccoman eclipsed a meet record today at the Drake Alternative Track and Field Meet, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus.

Evers, a Grand Forks product, won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.94 seconds. That time ranked as the second-best by a freshman in the Big Sky as of late Saturday night.

Evers' teammate and classmate, John LeClerc (Grafton, N.D.), placed fourth with a time of 15.26 seconds.

Saccoman, a native of Hibbing, Minn., ran the 5K race in a personal-record time of 15 minutes, 4.68 seconds, which eclipsed the meet record time of 15:10.47. He was the runner-up in the event.
