GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota soccer team saw its first game action of the 2012 season Saturday afternoon hosting its annual alumni game at Bronson Field. The 2012 UND team played to a 7-0 victory over the UND alumni team.

North Dakota earned a 4-0 lead by the midway point and added an additional three in the second half. Sophomore Sam Harris (Bismarck, N.D.) and freshman Taryn MacMillan (Rosemount, Minn.) led the way with two goals each while junior Amanda Dahl (Redmond, Wash.) and freshmen Abbey Welle (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Jessica Johnson (Tempe, Ariz.) scored one goal apiece.

UND opens its regular season next weekend with a pair of nonconference games against Northern Iowa on Friday (7 p.m.) and Iowa on Sunday (1 p.m.). The home-opener at Bronson Field is Aug. 24 against Minnesota, Crookston.
