OGDEN, Utah-- Sophomore center Emily Evers has been named co-Big Sky Conference Player of the Week announced Monday by league officials. Evers used a pair of career nights to lead UND to two home wins and its third straight win overall this season.

Evers, a Grand Forks, N.D. native, broke out in the win over Air Force Tuesday at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. The 6-foot-5 post established new career bests with 17 points and 15 rebounds in the blowout victory over the Falcons. She also added two assists and a pair of blocks in just 14 minutes of action.

She followed that performance with another 17-point effort in Saturday's overtime win against Drake. She notched yet another double-double-- her third of her career-- with 10 rebounds as well. Evers chipped-in four blocks and two steals and sealed the win in the final second of overtime with a free throw make.

For the season, Evers leads the team in blocks, is second in rebounding and is the team's third-leading scorer despite playing just 14.4 minutes per contest (eighth-most on the team). She averages 7.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game this season.

North Dakota (3-4)-- winners of three straight-- will host Jamestown College Saturday at home before the opening of Big Sky Conference play the following Thursday (Dec. 20) against Southern Utah.
