Angels Camp, Calif. - Junior Collin Lervick led a much better effort for the North Dakota men's golf team during round two of the America Sky Championship on Saturday. Lervick fired a 74 (+2) in a round where he made four birdies as UND's team score was 26 strokes better than its opening round score.

Three of Lervick's birdies came on par three's as he moved into a tie for 13th in the individual standings. He has a 36-hole total of 153 (+9) and will go into Sunday's final round tied with two other golfers in the 35-man field.

Lervick was not the only UND golfer to improve in round two as sophomore Aaron Pulanco and freshman Nick Jenson were both 11 strokes better following their second time around the Greenhorn Creek Golf Course. Pulanco carded an 81 (+9), while Jenson turned in his best score of the season with a 78 (+6).

Jenson had three birdies during his round. Sophomore Brady Ohman also had a better round, shaving nine strokes off his opening-round score to post an 83 (+11). Senior Sean Halverson was the only UND golfer to fall off his opening-round pace, but it was by just a stroke as he carded an 81 (+9) on Saturday.

Northern Colorado (584, +8) extended its lead to 19 strokes after carding an even-par team score of 288. Hartford (603, +27) moved into sole possession of second place after posting a 298 (+10). Sacramento State (606, +30), who was tied with Hartford entering the round, is in third.

UND(654, +78) remained in seventh and will play the final round of the 54-hole America Sky Championship on Sunday.
