STOCKHOLM -- Former University of North Dakota standouts Danny Kristo and T.J. Oshie helped the United States win the bronze medal with a 3-2 shootout victory over Finland today at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship.

It was Team USA's first medal at the IIHF World Championship since winning bronze in 2004.

Kristo received 13 minutes, 19 seconds of playing time, while Oshie played 17:47 and registered one shot on goal. He shot second in the shootout for the U.S. but was stopped by Finnish goaltender Antti Raanta.

Kristo played in all 10 tournament games and recorded a goal and two assists. Oshie joined the team after his St. Louis Blues were eliminated from the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs and finished with one goal in four tournament games.
