As a prospective student-athlete, three things about the University of North Dakota stood out to Mike Mannausau. Its tradition, history and a sense of family.

From student-athlete to coach, Mannausau enters his 10th season on the UND coaching staff. Mannausau serves as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator, overseeing the defensive line. He will look to take the momentum from a defensive unit that was tops in a number of a Great West categories in 2011 into the 2012 season, which will be the first for UND in the Big Sky Conference.
