PHILADELPHIA - Junior Greg Hardin became the first North Dakota football player to earn All-America honors at the Football Championship Subdivision level when he was named to the Sports Network's third team as the all-purpose player.

"Greg obviously had a tremendous season for us and this honor is well-deserved," UND head football coach Chris Mussman said. "The key was for him to stay healthy for a full season and everyone saw the kind of results he could produce when doing so. I'm really glad we have him for one more season."

Hardin put together one of the most memorable individual seasons at UND during what was the program's first in the Big Sky Conference. He caught 65 passes for 1,145 yards and a UND regular-season tying record of 14 receiving touchdowns, while adding 506 kickoff return yards on only 16 returns. Hardin added his 15th total touchdown thanks to a 99-yard return for a score vs. Southern Utah.

Hardin combined to lead the league with 1,651 all-purpose yards and his 1,145-yard effort was the second best total in the regular season for Big Sky receivers. He would earn first team All-Big Sky honors and make national headlines with his 333-yard receiving effort in a win over Montana.

The receiving yardage total was a new UND and Big Sky single-game record as he also hauled in three touchdown passes, including the game-winner in the final minute of play.
