Answers to frequently asked questions regarding UND's 5-year broadcast contract with Midcontinent Communications on Monday.

What is the length of the contract?

Five years, through June 30, 2017.

What is the rights fee paid to UND?

$1 million over five years - $150,000 (2012-13); $175,000 (2013-14); $200,000 (2014-15); $225,000 (2015-16); $250,000 (2016-17).

Will there be HD coverage of our events?

Midcontinent will television our games in High Definition beginning the third year (2014-15) of our five year agreement.

Will the same number of games be televised as in the past?

This agreement mirrors the number of games televised live in our previous agreement.

Will there be a weekly tv show similar to UND Sports Extra?

Yes - Midcontinent will produce a weekly television which is scheduled to air Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. 

Which channel on Midcontinent will our games be aired on?

Nearly all of our games and tv show will be aired on the main Midco Sports Channel - 27SD/622 HD.

Who will serve as play by play announcer and tv show host?

That will be determined this summer.
