A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bob Joyce entered UND as a freshman in the fall of 1984 after having been drafted that summer by the Boston Bruins in the fourth round of the NHL Draft.
Joyce played three seasons for the Sioux and still holds the UND record for most goals in a single season (52 in 1986-87). He ranks 11th on UND's all-time scoring list with 182 points (101 goals, 81 assists) and is one of only three UND players to score 100 career goals.
A first team All-WCHA selection and first team All-American in 1987, Joyce played six NHL seasons with Boston, Washington and Winnipeg.
