Senior-to-be Kris Kwak (Maple Grove, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) was recently named to the Alaska Baseball League First Team after a very successful season playing for the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks. He was named to the ABL North All-Star Team and competed in the league's Home Run Derby.

The first baseman finished the season with team-leading totals in batting (.338) and homers (6) with 26 runs batted in, second-most on the squad. The Maple Grove, Minn. native had a 14-game hit streak from June 29 to July 15, racking-up three hits on four different occasions in that stretch. His batting average spiked from .286 to .380 as he went 26-for-58 (.448) in that three-week span.

Kwak's Chinooks finished the campaign on a three-game winning streak to post a 17-22 overall record.

The Alaska Baseball League is an amateur collegiate summer baseball league, with six teams located in five Alaskan cities. Players in the league must have attended one year of college and must have one year of NCAA eligibility remaining.
