GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota athletics director Brian Faison announced today several promotions within the athletics department as a part of continuing efforts to move new administrative, academics, broadcast and multimedia initiatives forward for UND Athletics.

Amanda Hajdu has been promoted from director of athletics academic services to assistant athletics director for athletics academic services; Paul Ralston has been promoted from director of sales to director of broadcast properties; Matt Schill has been promoted from new media editor to director of new media; and Alex Burbach has been promoted from assistant to the athletics director to senior executive administrative assistant to the athletics director.

"These promotions are recognition of the key role each of these individuals have played in the success of UND Athletics and of the expanded responsibilities these individuals have taken on," Faison said.

Hajdu had served as athletics academic services director since 2009, during which time UND's student-athletes have enjoyed unprecedented success in the classroom while making the transition from NCAA Division II to Division I. In 2011-12, UND's 377 student-athletes combined for a 3.173 grade point average that was the highest in school history. Additionally, UND placed a school-record 115 student-athletes on academic all-conference teams last season, while a pair of student-athletes, hockey player Jocelyne Lamoureux and distance runner Lindsay Anderson garnered Academic All-America honors. Another, senior hockey player Brad Eidsness, earned NCAA and WCHA postgraduate scholarships.

Hajdu has also overseen the development and expansion of the George and Arlene Schubert Athletics Academic Center.

Ralston had served as the director of sales for UND Athletics since July 2009. He has also served as radio play-by-play and voice of UND basketball, alternating between men's and women's basketball at various times since 2005.

His duties will include formatting and production of all radio broadcasts, coordination of distribution of daily radio updates to affiliates, addressing advertiser client fulfillment and assisting with other media efforts of the athletics department. He will continue to serve as the play-by-play radio voice of UND men's basketball.

Schill joined the UND Athletics staff in 2006 as publications editor and took over the department's multimedia efforts the following year. He oversees all multimedia and social media initiatives for the athletics department, including its official website, UNDSports.com. During Schill's tenure, he has supervised two redesigns and the re-launch of UNDSports.com, increased the amount of daily and live-streaming video content through UND Insider, implemented a social media presence and strategy for each of UND's athletics teams, led efforts to develop mobile applications for UND Athletics, and oversees UND athletics photography.

Burbach has served as the assistant to the athletics director since July 2009. Her day-to-day duties include overseeing the operations of the athletic director's office; scheduling and coordinating donor/fan team travel for football; working with UND Alumni Foundation staff on the Champions Club Golf Tour; away pre-game donor/fan functions and the Night of Champions Gala; coordinating the UND Athletics Hall of Fame weekend; coordinating any department special events/offsite meetings; and managing the athletics director's daily schedule.
