Green Bay, Wis. - The North Dakota women's golf team shot its lowest team round of the season in relation to par on Monday to open the Green Bay Invitational in fourth place. The Green and White shot a 322 and was paced by senior Robin Hutchinson (Detroit Lakes, Minn.), who is tied for sixth in the individual standings after a three-over par 76.
For Hutchinson, it was her best round of the season by six strokes after she shot a 38 on both the front and back nines at the Green Bay Country Club.
"We had a pretty solid day all-and-all, but some we had some high numbers late that cost us down the stretch," UND women's golf coach Natalie Martinson said. "I like where we stand though going into the final round."
Indianapolis took the team lead, building a nine-stroke advantage thanks to a 307 (+15). Butler is second after a 316 (+24), while Northern Illinois is two strokes ahead of UND in third after a 320 (+28).
Sophomore Amanda Fairweather (Maple Valley, Wash.) was second among the UND golfers and tied for 19th overall after an 81 (+8). Freshman Abbie Mozzetti (Hugo, Minn.) opened her round with a 46 on the back nine, but rebounded to shoot a 36 on the front to end the day with an 82 (+9).
Mozzetti stands in a tie for 23rd place. Senior Shantel Montgomery (Minot, N.D.) and sophomore Mikayla Kromy (Grand Rapids, Minn.) each carded an 83 (+10) to round out the scoring for UND.
