Lutz leads UND runners at SDSU Classic

BROOKINGS, S.D. - North Dakota's women's cross country team return from a week off and placed fourth among Division I teams today at the South Dakota State Classic at the Edgebrook Golf Course.

UND recorded a team score of 91 points, finishing behind Minnesota (15 points), South Dakota State (68) and North Dakota State (78).

Minnesota boasted the top nine finishers in the individual standings and 10 of the top 12. UM's Molly Kayfes was the medalist with a time of 17:15.82.

UND's top runner was Lydia Lutz (Park Rapids, Minn.), who completed the 5K course in 18:35.76.

UND senior Lindsay Anderson (Leeds, N.D.) and sophomore Erin Wysocki (East Grand Forks, Minn.) gave UND two more runners in the top 25, placing 22nd and 24th, respectively, among the meet's 85 runners.

Following another week off, UND will return to action Sept. 28 at the Montana Invitational.
