CHENEY, Wash. --- The University of North Dakota soccer team suffered another conference loss Friday as Eastern Washington came out strong in the second half to claim a 4-1 victory.

With the loss, UND fell to 2-8-1 on the season and 0-4-0 in Big Sky Conference play, while EWU improved to 5-6-2 on the season and 2-2-1 in conference play.

North Dakota opened up scoring at the 17:45 mark with a goal from Taryn MacMillan (Rosemount, Minn.). Anna Jung (Sandy, Utah) was credited with the assist on MacMillan's third goal of the season, putting UND at a 1-0 advantage.

However, UND's lead was short-lived as Eastern Washington evened the score just 49 seconds later. Cassie Black found the net on an assist from Kasey McNeill to tie the game up at 1-1.

North Dakota and Eastern Washington would carry the 1-1 score into the half.

Eastern Washington dominated the second half, scoring three goals and holding North Dakota goalless.  EWU's first goal, scored by Black at the 64:50 mark, put the Eagles up 2-1. Haley Stading was credited on the assist.

In the 82nd minute, Black tallied her third goal of the game (eighth of the season), giving Eastern Washington a 3-1 advantage.

Eastern Washington's final goal would come from Caitlin Hepworth on a corner kick assist from Danielle Jones in the 86th minute. This goal would wrap up the game, giving the Eagles a 4-1 victory.

Eastern Washington edged North Dakota in shots 24-16 and corner kicks 9-4.

MacMillan, Noel Scherer (Fargo, N.D.), and Rhaya Ballon (Rogers, Minn.) led UND with three shots each. UND's goalkeeper Kristi Hestdalen (Pierre, S.D.) tallied nine saves in the losing effort.

UND will finish off the weekend Sunday in a Big Sky Conference game against Montana in Missoula, Montana.
