The University of North Dakota baseball team recently got an opportunity to support local Special Olympians at Liberty Lanes in East Grand Forks, Minn.
"Our team is thrilled to get the opportunity to work with such a great organization as Special Olympics," UND head coach Jeff Dodson said. "Our players have a great time and they have made some lifelong friends in the process."
The team has formed a nice connection with the Special Olympics, getting together on numerous occasions in the past. Last Saturday's bowling event was just another opportunity for the team to re-kindle some budding relationships.
"It's a great time to come together and interact with the athletes," Zack Trygstad said. "We support them and they come out to our games are support us. It's a lot of fun."
