GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota swimming and diving teams will take to the pool for the first competition this Friday, hosting the annual Green/White scrimmage at 4:00 p.m. at the Hyslop pool. It will be the first opportunity for fans to see the newest UND swimmers in the first of a jam-packed October full of home meets for the North Dakota teams.
Fourth-year head coach Steve Parsons and diving coach Brian Strom, now in his 23rd year with the program, welcome back 15 athletes to the women's roster, including captains junior Veronica Medon and sophomore Morgan Lynch.
Medon is the reigning UND Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year after a 2011-12 season that saw her etch new school records in three different events (100 & 200 back, 200 IM). Lynch grabbed three school records of her own in all three distance freestyle events (500, 1000, 1650 free).
Parsons will usher in a dozen new faces on the women's roster, including several expected to make an immediate impact.

UND will officially open the 2012-13 campaign next weekend, hosting Nebraska and St. Cloud State for two-day duals beginning Friday at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13th's action is now slated for an 11:00 a.m. start.
