THIS WEEK: North Dakota heads to Columbus, Ohio, for its first road series of the season. The series is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. and 3:07 p.m. CDT on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

ABOUT OHIO STATE: The No. 10 Buckeyes enter this weekend undefeated at 4-0-0 (2-0-0 WCHA)...OSU swept Minnesota Duluth in a series for the first time in program history last weekend...With a goal and an assist in the series against the Bulldogs, senior forward Hokey Langen is now tied for fifth all-time at Ohio State in goals and tied for seventh all-time in assists...Senior forward Paige Semenza leads the Buckeyes in points with eight, including four goals...Senior Minttu Tuominen scored two goals, including the game-winner, in Saturday's 3-2 win over UMD...Junior Chelsea Knapp has started all four games and is 4-0-0 with a 1.25 goals against average and .937 save percentage...Junior forward Ally Tarr, the Buckeyes' leading returning scorer from a season ago, saw her first action of 2012-13 while in Duluth, recording an assist in the victory on Saturday...OSU has scored three or more goals in all four games this season.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES: OSU leads the all-time series 18-11-3 and 11-4-1 in Columbus, but UND is 7-2-1 in its last 10 meetings and has won 4-of-its-last-5 games in Columbus.

POLL POSITION: UND is ranked No. 6 in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.

GGF LINE: In its first series of the season, UND featured a line combination of greater Grand Forks area natives. Jocelyne Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux of Grand Forks and East Grand Fork's Leah Jensen. All three finished the weekend tied for the team lead with three points.

FRESH CONTRIBUTION: UND had seven players make their collegiate debuts against Minnesota State, combining for one goal, five assists, a 2.01 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.

SURPRISE START: North Dakota dropped a 3-2 decision in the season-opener to Minnesota State after leading 2-0 with under 10 minutes to play in regulation. UND was 17-2-0 when scoring first, 22-3-3 when holding an opponent to four or fewer goals, 20-1 when leading after the second intermission and 15-3-1 at home last year.

OLD VETS VS. THE YOUNG AND RESTLESS: Of the 26 athletes on UND's 2012-13 roster, eight of them are seniors and 12 are either redshirt freshmen or true freshmen. UND enters the season with six players that over 100 games of experience, 17 with less than 40 games and only three in the middle.

FACING THE HOT: For the second consecutive week, North Dakota will face the reigning defensive player of the week in net in MSU's Danielle Butters and OSU's Chelsea Knapp.

FRONT LOADED: UND will open the season playing 12 of its first 16 games at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

COACHES CHOICE: North Dakota was picked to finish second in the WCHA Pre-Season Coaches Poll, behind defending national champion Minnesota and tied with defending WCHA regular-season champion Wisconsin.

HOME DOMINANCE: North Dakota went 15-3-1 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena last year to set new program records in home wins and home winning percentage. At the REA, UND outscored its opponents 102-36.

START STRONG, FINISH STRONG: UND went 17-2 when scoring first last season.

UNITED NATIONS: North Dakota continues to expand its recruiting pipeline while pursuing local standouts as well. UND has four players from North Dakota, 10 from Minnesota, two from Colorado, two from Manitoba, one from Ontario, one from Quebec and six from Europe (Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden).

BONUS SCHOOL: Jorid Dagfinrud, Jocelyne Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux have all received their bachelor's degrees from UND and are pursuing their master's degrees.

THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT: For the second consecutive season, UND ranked second in the nation in attendance (1,485 per game) while setting a new program record for total attendance as well (28,218). UND got off to another strong start in its first two home games this season averaging 1,336.

EXPOSURE: UND will have four games televised by Midco Sports Net in 2012-13 as home series against rivals Minnesota and Wisconsin will be shown in households regionally.

All home games are aired locally on the radio along with eight road games this season.
